Civic Environmentalism
Civic
environmentalism is a model of environmental action used to design answers
to local environmental problems, having as its main motor the collaboration
and participation of interested people. It is a model of environmental
action that has a “bottom up” approach where the cooperation
of the local people interacts with the local government and private
institutions. In addition it is a model that is inserted very well in
the perspective of the reconciliation.
In simple, the civic environmentalism looks to unite different people with varied interests and varied professions that are in a same physical place which they try to improve. The project includes government action but it has as its main motor the unity and encounter of the interested people. Thus it offers not only an occasion of reconciliation with the environment but of reconciliation with the others. Religion acts as that common base that it unites the people to act and to improve the condition of life.
The faith and the pastoral activity are the great catalyst of the civic environmentalism Creatio proposes giving sense and direction of the different projects. CREATIO proposes the civic environmentalism founded on dialogue and truth, and as an excellent, but not exclusive, model of environmental action.
